Tecno, a Chinese smartphone maker, is reportedly in the works with its next Camon 40 series devices and now, the Camon 40 Premier 5G has made its appearance on the FCC certification platform. Via the new certification listing, few of its key specs and design of the upcoming smartphone have been revealed.

Tecno Camon 40 Premier 5G – FCC Certification  

The Camon 40 Premier 5G device of Tecno bears the model number of ‘CM8’ and has received the FCC certification with the FCC ID of ‘2ADYY-CM8’. This device is suggested to measure 164 x 74 x 8 mm in dimension, and will support 2G/3G/4G/5G network, Wi-Fi with dual band support, Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity. It is also pointed out to pack a battery with a battery range of DC 3.86V, with fast charging support of up to 70W (charging adapter model number – ‘U700TSA’). Also to note, the FCC listing also confirms that there is also a 12GB/256GB storage model for the device too.

Coming to its design, we get to see the schematic and internal design images of the smartphone via the FCC database. Based on these, this upcoming device is also expected to feature a dual tone rear panel just like its predecessor, sporting a centrally-placed circular camera module again with four circular interior units. From what it appears, the first two and last internal units are likely to occupy camera sensors, and there is a periscope telephoto lens inside the fourth circular interior unit. To add, the LED flashlight is placed outside the camera module at the top-left corner of the rear panel.

Notably, the right side panel has the volume rocker and power button, and at the left side panel, there seems to be an additional key, which could be an action button. Moreover, both the rear panel and side panels are flat, along with rounded corners.

Previously, this Tecno Camon 40 series smartphone with the model number – ‘CM8’ was also spotted on the EEC and IMEI databases, however, while the EEC listing mentioned the moniker as Camon 40 Premier 5G, the IMEI listing suggested the moniker to be Camon 40 Pro 5G. But based on the design and specs revealed, it is likely to be the next Camon 40 Premier 5G itself (due to certain similarities with the previous Camon 30 Premier 5G rather than the Camon 30 Pro 5G). Apart from the Camon 40 Premier 5G and Camon 40 Pro 5G, the Camon 40 and Camon 40 Pro 4G devices are also reportedly in work.

Tecno Pop 9 5G was launched in the Indian market in September last year, followed shortly by its 4G variant. At launch, the Pop 9 5G was available in two memory configurations: 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB. Now, a third variant has been introduced with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

While Tecno markets this as having 16GB RAM, it actually features 8GB physical RAM combined with 8GB virtual RAM. The rest of the specifications remain unchanged from the previous variant.

It features a 6.6-inch wide display with HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with the Arm Mali G57 MC2 GPU. The rear has a 48MP main camera with a Sony IMX582 sensor complemented with an AI lens.

The front side of the smartphone sports an 8MP front-facing camera. It runs Android 14 based HiOS 14 and comes with stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR sensor, and a 3.5mm audio jack, and it comes in an IP54-rated body. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging.

The new variant is priced at Rs 10,999 (inclusive of bank offers) and will be available for purchase starting today on Amazon.

After its recent FCC listing, Tecno’s fifth smartphone of the Pova 6 series – the Tecno Pova 6 5G has appeared on the Google Play Console Supported Devices List. While nothing about its specs or features have been revealed, the listing suggests that the upcoming device is nearing its launch.

The Tecno Pova 6 5G smartphone with the model number – ‘KJ8s’ has been spotted on the Google Play Console Supported Devices List, and its moniker has also been mentioned on the listing. Moreover, the four already-launched Pova 6 series smartphones – Pova 6 (4G), Pova 6 Pro 5G, Pova 6 Neo (4G), and Pova 6 Neo 5G can also be seen on the database along with the upcoming Pova 6 5G model.

Speaking more, a few days back, the Pova 6 5G made it to the FCC database, pointing out expected specs such as the 5000 mAh typical battery (4900 mAh rated battery), 33W wired fast charge feature, NFC connectivity, projected squircle rear camera module with a triple camera system, flat rear panel with seemingly curved sides, 8GB/256GB storage option, and White color choice. A rear panel design image was also shared via the FCC platform. Also, this device was certified by the Bluetooth SIG authority too, however, its Bluetooth connectivity version has not yet been revealed.

Tecno Pop 9 5G – 16GB*/128GB Storage Model Launching Soon in India

The Tecno Pop 9 5G smartphone was unveiled for Indian consumers last year back in the month of September 2024, and initially it was only available in 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB storage options at price points of INR 9,499 and INR 9,999 respectively.

As per what has been revealed, there will be a 16GB*(8GB inbuilt RAM + 8GB virtual RAM)/128GB storage model too for the smartphone soon, which will be launched in India with a price tag of INR 10,999 (including bank offer). The sale for this device will be starting on the 8th of January 2025, at 12PM local time.

Moreover, the landing page is currently live on Amazon with key specs and features teased, and it will be made available through the mentioned shopping platform as an Amazon Specials product.

Tecno Pova 6 5G – FCC Certification

The Tecno Pova 6 5G smartphone has appeared on the FCC certification platform bearing the same model number of ‘KJ8s’ with which it was spotted previously on the Bluetooth SIG database, and it has been certified by the FCC authority with the FCC ID of ‘2ADYY-KJ8S’. It has also been listed on the FCC database as a ‘Mobile Phone’, revealing a few key specs as noted above.

As per what has been revealed, this upcoming Tecno Pova 6 5G device has the software version – ‘KJ8s-H339A-U-0P-241011V70’ and hardware version – ‘V1.0’. It supports NFC connectivity with an operation frequency of ‘13.553-13.567MHz(TX/RX)’ and modulation technology of ‘ASK’. The smartphone is also pointed out to pack a 5000 mAh typical Li-ion polymer battery (4900 mAh rated battery) with model number – ‘BL-49JT’, and has been listed with a charging adapter carrying the model number of ‘U330TSB’. The maximum charging speed is also revealed to be 33W.

Moreover, Tecno’s Pova 6 5G model is also suggested to offer a 8GB/256GB storage variant and sport a triple rear camera system within a squircle camera module, along with a possible White color choice.

Tecno Pova 6 4G has already made its debut and soon the 5G variant will also be making its way in the smartphone industry. We at The Tech Outlook have today spotted the upcoming 5G variant on the Bluetooth SIG certification website with model number KJ8s.

The database does not reveal any other details except its moniker and model number while there is no information related to this device has been revealed previously. Though some more details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.

The smartphone sports a 6.67-inch display that offers HD+ screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 480 nits brightness. It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. It also includes 8GB Extended RAM. It runs on HiOS 14.5. The device is backed by a 5000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

It packs up a 108MP main camera on the rear side while on the front it features an 8MP selfie camera. We’ve been tracking the upcoming Tecno Camon 40 series over the past month, first noting the Camon 40 Pro 5G and Camon 40 Premier on EEC certification. Soon after, the Camon 40 Pro 5G appeared on the Geekbench database. Now, we’ve discovered the 4G variant of the Camon 40 Pro on TUV certification.

Tecno Camon 40 Pro TUV Rheinland

The TUV certification displays the model number “CM6,” though without the device name. Previous IMEI database listings had connected this model number to the Tecno Camon 40 Pro. According to the listing, the device will feature a 5100mAh battery.

So far, four models in the Camon 40 series have been reported: Camon 40- ‘CM5’, Camon 40 Pro- ‘CM6’, Camon 40 Pro 5G- ‘CM7’, and Camon 40 Premier 5G-‘CM8’. For comparison, the previous Camon 30 series included six variants: Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, Camon 30 Premier 5G, Camon 30S (4G), and Camon 30S Pro (4G) models.

Since the entire Camon 30 series featured 5000mAh batteries, it’s possible the Camon 40 series might standardize on the larger 5100mAh capacity. However, we’ll need to wait for official confirmation on the complete specifications.

Tecno’s latest foldable smartphones, the Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2, are finally making their way to the Indian market. Although both devices have already launched globally, their Indian debut faced delays despite being spotted on the BIS certification website.

Now, they’ve appeared on the Amazon India microsite, teasing their arrival with phrases such as “Something Epic is about to Unfold” for the V Fold 2 and “Prepare for the Ultimate Flip” for the V Flip 2. However, the exact launch date remains unconfirmed on the microsite. A recent report by 91Mobiles, however, suggests they will launch in the first week of December.

Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 Specifications

According to the microsite, the Phantom V Fold 2 features an aerospace-grade hinge design that supports over 400,000 folds. For added screen durability, it is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. As per a Counterpoint November 2024 report, the device boasts the largest 5750mAh Aircell battery in the foldable segment, supporting 70W wired and 15W wireless charging—identical to its global variant.

It is also one of the thinnest foldables, measuring just 5.5mm when unfolded and 11.98mm when folded. Tecno’s AI features, such as AI Magic Removal, AI Image Cutout, and AI Writing, are included, powered by Tecno AI.

The Counterpoint report further highlights that the device has the largest displays—both folded and unfolded—under the ₹100k price category. It comes with a 6.42-inch 3D curved outer screen and a 7.85-inch Ultra Flat Foldable Mirror Screen. The rear camera setup includes a triple 50MP configuration: a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP portrait camera with 2x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom. The front features dual 32MP cameras.

The device offers 12GB RAM, with an additional 12GB of virtual RAM via Tecno’s Memory Fusion, and is expected to be available in a single storage option of 512GB. Other features include an advanced GNSS precise positioning system and Dolby Atmos speakers. In India, it will be available in two colours: Karst Green and Rippling Blue, designed by LOEWE.

Tecno Phantom V Flip 2 Specifications

The Phantom V Flip 2 also features an aerospace-grade hinge tested for over 400,000 flips and protected by Corning Glass 8. It has a 4750mAh battery supporting 70W fast wired charging.

AI features powered by Tecno AI include Magic Removal, Art Board, AI Wallpaper, ELLA (an AI assistant), and Image Cutout. The outer display is a 3.62-inch AMOLED Overflowing Screen, while the inner display is a 6.89-inch Flexible AMOLED screen with Always-On Display and Cute Pets Wallpaper 2.0.

The outer display houses a dual-camera setup with a 50MP OIS sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, while the inner display has a 32MP autofocus selfie camera.

The device comes with 8GB RAM and an additional 8GB virtual RAM, along with up to 256GB of internal storage. Other features include a GNSS positioning system and dual Dolby Atmos speakers. In India, it will be available in Travertine Green and Moondust Grey.

These details from the Amazon listing hint at a competitive entry into the foldable market, with more information expected in the coming days.

Tecno, the Chinese consumer electronics maker, has unveiled its latest Megapad 11 tablet globally, revealing its specifications and other details. The latest device is thus expected to soon arrive in different global markets as well.

Tecno Megapad 11 – Officially Unveiled in Global Market

The Tecno Megapad 11 tablet device is powered by MediaTek’s G99 octa-core (6nm) chipset, and will offer 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage option. Moreover, with memory fusion, users will be able to access a total RAM of up to 16GB (8GB inbuilt + 8GB virtual), and also expand the storage up to 512GB more using a microSD card. The Android 14 operating system is also said to improve its performance.

About the display, the latest tablet has a FHD+ (12oo x 1920 pixels) display with a screen size of 11″, screen-to-body-ratio of 83%, refresh rate of 90Hz, and a brightness of 440 nits. Additionally, the dark mode also lets users enjoy a low-light experience reducing eye strain. A blue light filter is also present for long-use sessions.

Speaking of the camera system, at the rear, there is a 13MP primary shooter with an LED flashlight. A front-facing camera of 8MP has also been given for selfies and online meetings.

Regarding the battery, an 8000 mAh larger battery is packed within the device. A long-lasting battery life with 71 days standby, 15.1 hours video playback, and 137 hours Bluetooth music listening have thus been guaranteed. Also, an 18W wired fast charge feature is supported too.

Since the brand has officially unveiled the Megapad 11 via its global website, the device will soon be arriving in different global markets and Tecno will possibly be making the official announcements in the coming days or weeks. Tecno Camon 40 Pro 5G – Geekbench Appearance

The Tecno Camon 40 Pro 5G smartphone has been spotted on the Geekbench database bearing the model number – ‘CM7’, and it has achieved 1034 points and 3257 points respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests.

As mentioned, via the Geekbench listing, some key performance specs have also been revealed. It is the 8GB RAM variant of the smartphone that has been listed on Geekbench, featuring a motherboard codenamed – ‘XYZ-Champion’. Based on the source code, this Camon 40 Pro 5G device may be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 processor with 2.50 GHz primary clock speed and integrated with the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.

Speaking about previous updates, the Camon 40 Pro 5G was also spotted on the European EEC database a few days back with this same model number, however, in the IMEI platform, it was listed with a different model number (CM6). Also to add, apart from the Camon 40 Pro 5G, the series is reported to include Camon 40, Camon 40 Pro, and Camon 40 Premier 5G models as well.
