Well, the brand has now released January 2025 update for Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones in India.

Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S24 Ultra- January 2025 Update

The update is based on One UI 6.1 and Android 14. It includes the January 2025 security patch level that improves the security of the device.

For Galaxy S24 the update arrives with firmware version S921BXXS5AYA1/S921BOXM5AYA1/S921BXXS5AYA1 and the size of the update is 297.88MB.

For Galaxy S24 Ultra the update arrives with firmware version S928BXXS4AYA1/S928BOXM4AYA1/S928BXXS4AYA1 and the size of the update is 460.23MB.

Yesterday Samsung officially unveiled its all-new Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. The devices in this series run on One UI 7. While recently Samsung has revealed that the One UI 7 official version will be released in Q1, 2025 and it will be first rolled out to the Galaxy S series (likely the Galaxy S24 series). Galaxy S24 series is yet to receive One UI 7 Beta 4 update as revealed by official beta moderators earlier.

The South Korean tech giant Samsung recently rolled out a January 2025 update to Galaxy S24 series models. The update enhanced the system security features of the smartphones. The company has now rolled out a second January 2025 update in Korea for Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 Ultra- Second January 2025 Update

The update is based on One UI 6.1 and Android 14 OS. It arrives with firmware version S928NKSS4AXL3/S928NOKR4AXL3/S928NKSS4AXL1 and the size of the update is 376.82MB.

This update applies a security-related stabilization code to the smartphone. It arrives with a security patch level up to 10 January 2025.

Other than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is also receiving the January 2025 second update in Korea. It is based on One UI 6.1.1 and Android 14. The update arrives with firmware version F741NKSS2AYA3/F741NOKR2AYA3/F741NKSU2AXJ9 and the size of the update is 385.17MB. It applies a security-related stabilization code to the device and includes the January 1, 2025 security patch level.

The first January update for the device arrived with firmware version F741NKSS2AXLF in South Korea.

Since this update is currently being spotted on the South Korean variants only, other regions can soon expect this update as well.

As pointed out earlier also, Samsung rolling out the January 2025 Android security patch update to Galaxy S24 models suggests that the OneUI 7 official version won’t be released this month for Galaxy S24 models. The company has already rolled out the One UI 7 Beta 3 update to the Galaxy S24 series and if finalized, the brand may release the One UI 7 Beta 4 update as well.

One UI 7 official version release is said to take place at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event that will be held on 22^nd January.

A few days back Samsung India shared a cryptic Instagram post that suggested that the company would be launching a new color variant for an already available device. Though the device name was not revealed The Tech Outlook shared with you that the company will be launching the Titanium Yellow variant of Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The 12GB/256GB variant is priced at Rs.1,29,999, the 12GB/512GB variant is priced at Rs.1,39,999 while the 12GB/1TB variant is priced at Rs.1,59,999.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone features a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a QHD+ panel that offers a 120 Hz refresh rate, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ support. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 12 GB RAM and 1 TB internal storage.

It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging. The smartphone runs Android 14-based OneUI 6.1 and will get 7 years of OS upgrades. In the camera department, the smartphone gets a 200 MP OIS-enabled primary shooter, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, and a 12 MP ultrawide sensor on the back. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones on Jan. 17 globally. The company is expected to announce three models, such as the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S24 Plus, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Revegnus, has leaked the memory configurations and colour variants of all three smartphones.

As per the leak, the Galaxy S24 will arrive in two configurations, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. It will arrive in shades such as grey, violet, and yellow.

The Galaxy S24 Plus will come in two options, such as 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. It will be available in colours like grey, black, violet, and yellow. As reports have revealed, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus may arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip or the Exynos 2400 chip, depending on the region.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip in all regions. The new leak states that the Ultra variant will be made available in configurations such as 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 1 TB storage. It will be sold in shades such as black, grey, violet, and yellow.

Samsung is yet to confirm the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event. However, reports have claimed that the S24 series will be available for purchase starting Jan. 30 after its official announcement on Jan. 17.

According to the tipster Galaxy S24 Ultra body thickness will be slightly thinner to 8.6mm. While instead of a speaker grille, a long speaker bar can be seen in the image above. Galaxy S23 Ultra had air vents at the bottom but in Galaxy S24 Ultra the air vents moved to the top. Galaxy S24 Ultra will also arrive with support for S Pen which has been spotted on various certification websites. The S Pen is flat in Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The volume and power buttons on the right side of the Galaxy S24 Ultra are thicker than that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Also, the titanium alloy material used in S24 Ultra is better. Reportedly, the South Korean tech giant Samsung will be unveiling its next flagship series- the Galaxy S24 series on January 17. Samsung has till now not officially announced the launch date of this series. The series will be including three smartphones- Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Recently a lot of information has leaked online about these upcoming devices due to various leaks and reports.

Ahead of the official launch of this series, Galaxy S24 Ultra has been spotted on India’s BIS certification website with the model number SM-S928B/DS.

Though the listing does not reveal anything other than the model number of the smartphone it indicates that Galaxy S24 Ultra will be making its debut soon in the Indian market. Previously the Bluetooth SIG certification website also confirmed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will support S Pen.

Galaxy S24: Specifications (expected)

The device is pointed out to have two processor variants- Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400, and might be coupled with upto 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The device is also said to have an AMOLED display panel with a screen size of 6.78″ and a QHD+ screen resolution. The display may also have an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, along with a 2,500 nits(up to) brightness rate.

At the rear, the device is expected to sport a quad camera unit, having a 200MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, 10MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. A 12MP front camera can be expected as well. The device is likely to be backed by a 5000 mAh battery, and the smartphone should probably support the 45W wired, as well as a faster 25W wireless fast charge features.

According to the video shared, the middle frame, flat bottom, and radian are exactly the same as the design concept of the S24 Ultra. It can be speculated that the upcoming S24 Ultra and Fold 6 might be similar in terms of design. However, as per the tipster, the screen bezel of Fold 6 could be narrower than shown in the video.

As previously reported, the upcoming smartphone could come equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that offers Quad HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and up to 2500 nits of brightness. Previously the tipster has also mentioned that Galaxy S24 Ultra will be made available in black, white, and silver versions and has also suggested the users to go for the silver version instead of black as the black version of the bezel will look very wide.

The upcoming device is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 chipsets. The smartphone is also expected to have a similar 200MP quad camera setup but with a better 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom capability.
