Samsung, the South Korean tech maker, recently unveiled its latest Galaxy S25 series flagship devices with the Android 15 based One UI 7 custom skin onboard, however, as per recent updates, the official version for other previous Galaxy smartphone models are said to be delayed and will likely only be rolled out by the end of next month onwards. Amidst this, a new One UI 7 build has been uploaded on the brand’s official server for last year’s Galaxy S24 series models.

New One UI 7 Build for Galaxy S24 Series Updated on Server – ‘BYA6’

As per what has been shared, from the ‘BYA4’ build, the brand’s official server has been updated with the ‘BYA6’ One UI 7 build for the Galaxy S24 series. Its build version is mentioned to be ‘S928NKSU4BYA6/ S928NOKR4BYA6/ S928NKSU4BYA6’.

Speaking more, it has already been revealed that there will be one more beta update (One UI 7 beta 4 update) for the Galaxy S24 series before the official version gets rolled out, and it will be announced or informed to users via the Samsung Members app.

Also, according to what was revealed officially in a press release, Samsung plans to polish its One UI 7 custom skin with the feedback received via the beta program, and the official version is thus expected to be only made available from the end of February 2025, or in March 2025, if everything turns out right. To add, it will be first rolled out to the Galaxy S series flagship models, and later to the other series devices.

As mentioned, from the ‘BYA2’ One UI 7 build version, the Galaxy S24 official server page has been updated with the ‘BYA4’ version build. Speaking more, the firmware build version is revealed to be ‘S928BXXU4BYA4/ S928BOXM4BYA4/ S928BXXU4BYA4’. The tipster @tarunvats33 who has shared this news also notes that the release of this version is likely not to take place soon, and furthermore in the comment adds that it may only be released at the end of next month in February 2025.

As of now, the One UI 7 beta 3 program is ongoing for the Galaxy S24 series users, and users will probably have to wait for a while to receive the next One UI 7 beta 4 update (if finalized) as suggested above. The beta moderators have also added that the development is currently taking place and any official update concerning the release will be informed to users via the Samsung Members app.

Based on the official update, it is now confirmed that there is indeed a One UI 7 beta 4 version in works and that the next update won’t be the stable version update (for the Galaxy S24 series).

It has been further added that the development team is currently working on the One UI 7 beta 4 version, refining and optimizing the user experience, therefore the release schedule cannot be confirmed yet. The official update regarding the release is suggested to be shared via the Samsung Members app, and the beta moderators have asked to keep a keen eye on the official announcements.

Moreover, to the question about ZXKN animations and whether it would be added on to the stable version, it has been answered that any changes or additions would be communicated to users via future release notes.

Galaxy S24 Series – January 2025 Android Security Patch Update

It is already known that the Galaxy S24 series One UI 7 beta program is live in certain global regions and the beta 3 update was rolled out to the devices a few days back. Following this, Samsung has decided to roll out the January 2025 Android security patch update to the Galaxy S24 series models in the Canadian market.

Speaking more, the January 2025 Android security patch update is based on One UI 6.1 and Android 14, and it has a firmware version of ‘S928WVLS4AXL2/ S928WOYV4AXL2/ S928WVLS4AXL2’. Also, the total size of the update is ‘446.34 MB’, and the update will enhance the system security features of the devices. [The update page shared is of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s (SM-S928W).]

Furthermore, one more thing has to be noted here. While Samsung has rolled out the January 2025 Android security patch update for Galaxy S24 series models, this could obviously mean that the devices won’t likely receive the One UI 7 official version this month. This was initially pointed out by the tipster @tarunvats33 who has been sharing a lot about the One UI 7 custom skin, and it seems in his Galaxy S24 model, the battery charge consumed in 9 hours 55 minutes is 85%. Following the tipster’s X post, other Galaxy S24 series users have also shared their experience of how the battery drain issue is troubling them with some users getting a battery life of as low as 3 or 4 hours of total battery life. Additionally, a few users have also shared their charging patterns, revealing that they had to charge at least three times to get through the day.

The tipster has also further commented that the current battery condition of a user’s Galaxy S24 series device running on One UI 7 beta 3 version is really bad, whereas another X user asked him to report this on the forum so that it gets rectified on the final version.

As suggested, Samsung is soon going to conduct its next and first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year and it is scheduled to take place on the 22nd of January 2025. The One UI 7 official version will be released alongside the Galaxy S25 series flagships. Moreover, the event is also said to unveil the Project Moohan XR headset, the brand’s new smart glasses, and the teaser for the next generation Galaxy Smart Ring, as per reports.

Speaking of the One UI 7 beta 3 update with version ‘ZXLJ’, it was initially introduced with several fixes and optimizations, such as smooth scrolling in app list, improvements in Game Boost, better working of Samsung Messages, seamless Quick Settings closing, display issue fixes, properly lined-up notification icons, improvements in lock screen editing, shortcut icons stays visible, fix for volume button problem when using Routines, and seamless working of Edge Panel tools. On top of these, few more features or upgrades have been brought to One UI 7 beta 3 as mentioned above.

The One UI Home has now been updated from version ‘16.0.00.203’ to version ‘16.0.03.21’.

App size, app labels, as well as widget labels are now available and listed on the main Home Settings page.

The Quick Panel can now also be set on the left side too.

A new improved battery icon has also been added now.

Furthermore, new upgrades and changes are again reportedly being released today, likely with certain design upgrades for notification icons, Gallery, and more, along with some possible upgrades on the Recorder app.

The tipster who has shared the update also notes that if this beta build is confirmed and finalized for the One UI 7 beta 3 release, then as per the process schedule, the beta update roll-out would possibly be taking place either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Because the next two days are Saturday and Sunday, if the beta build is finalized for release, most likely the One UI 7 beta 3 update can be expected on Monday, the 6th of January 2025.

This same month is believed to be in which the brand is also expected to bring out the official stable version. Based on previous reports, the One UI 7 official version is believed to be coming with the next flagship Galaxy S25 series models at the Galaxy Unpacked event that is said to be held on the 22nd of January 2025.

This revealed that Samsung is currently testing the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S21 FE model and that it is probably going to receive it soon. The One UI 7 beta 3 in US, UK, South Korea, and Germany; One UI 7 beta 2 in India and Poland, are also expected to come out this week.
